St John’s Neville’s Cross is a lively family church in a residential area of Durham. Sunday services are at 8.45am and 10.30am, with a range of groups for children and teenagers at the later service, and a variety of evening services and events. Messy Church for younger children, and SPLAT for older children and teenagers, happen regularly. St John’s is a Faritrade parish with an annual summer Ecofest community celebration.

St Oswald’s seeks to be a place of encounter with Christ, and of help to grow in faith in an active and reflective Christian community of all ages. Our style of worship is quite traditional, with an emphasis on the help good music can provide; we have a fine organ, an excellent choir and a flourishing team of bellringers. Close ecumenical contacts and shared activities with the other churches in the Elvet area of the city are an important part of our church life, as is our mission to the large student community in the parish. Our churchyard is managed as a wildlife haven and wild-flower meadow and the church is usually open in daytime Monday to Friday, as well as at service times, to visit, pray, or just enjoy some quiet.

St. John's is the Parish Church for a large, mainly residential area 3 miles South-West of Durham City centre. The church is situated on the A690 (direction Crook) and is opposite the local authority offices and sports centre and is backed by the Meadowfield Industrial Estate. The parish covers five former mining villages (Langley Moor, Browney, Brandon Colliery, Meadowfield, with a daughter church, St. Catherine's, still active in New Brancepeth). We could describe the church style as inclusive Anglo-Catholic, with worship centred on the Holy Eucharist.

St Laurence's is in a Joint Benefice with St. Mary Magdalene, Belmont. Services are at 9.30am every Sunday (except when a joint service is held). See our Facebook page for notices.

We are an active Anglican Christian community with an average congregation of sixty people of all ages. We have a collective desire both to grow to in faith and to reach out pastorally into our communities, where we have strong links, particularly with our church school.
